how was the first day?

Sarah “David how was your first day”

David “they only let us play outside for like 10 minutes.”

Sarah “ anything else what did you like about school?’

David “just the hole day of fun. I couldn’t believe it just all fun.” He thought for a minute “it was fun but I can’t remember what it was… it was just fun.”

The only other thing he said was “I was still hungry after I eat my home lunch.’’ No surprise there he is always hungry.

It was a success. He did come home with a note that he was talking too much and not listening enough. He will have to learn.

First Day of Kindergarten

Well David headed off to his first day of Kindergarten. He was so exited he was ready a hole 15 minutes early (a first for him) and insisted we go out and wait for the bus. He was so excited to get his school bag with a lunch box inside. David was crazy when he saw the bus coming up the street he was jumping up and down hardly able to wait for the bus to get to our stop. When the bus stopped he was right in there with the neighbor boys and found an empty seat. Livvy was right behind sure she was going on that bus too. She had been calling bus bus every time she saw a car dive by before the bus got to us. I had not realized she had no idea what a bus looked like. But she was a little miffed when I grabbed her from climbing on the bus.

When the bus had gone and David could no longer be seen smiling and waving Livvy began to say over and over “bus gone, David gone” in a confused and sum what sad voice.

I was not going to waist the morning so off we went to the grocery store as Livvy continued her pitiful observations ”David gone bus. Where David?” we had a quiet and quick trip and was in the van on the way home before 8:30 when Livvy saw a bus she was so exited “ David David bus David bus” she shouted. I am sure that it will be a while before Livvy realizes that David is not on the bus all day. She is already lonely. I asked her if she was going to go upstairs to play and she said “David play? David gone bus no play.” She is so sweet.

I had such a fun time decorating and getting ready for Megan Kroff's baby shower. everything was pink in honer of her little Allison. I made pink pom-poms to decorate fun and easy. Then I had all pink food that was so much fun.
As per request I am posting recipes for the deserts I made.

Raspberry Moose (in the mini flutes)

3/4 c. boiling water
1 pkg. raspberry Jello
1 c. ice cubes
1 tub cool whip
1 c. raspberries mashed with a fork
Pour boiling water over Jello and stir until dissolved. Add ice cubes, one at a time until partially melted. Add cool whip and fold it in. Chill until set. Makes 6 servings.

No bake Cheese Cake (small phyllo tarts)

8oz. cream cheese
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/3 c. real lemon juice
mix and chill ( I added a little raspberry jam to the mix. ) the lemon juice is the thickener.

Cucumber Punch

equal parts white grape juice and pink lemonade. add lime slices and cucumber slices allow to sit for 10 minuted be fore you serve so the flavor from the limes and cucumber to steep into the punch.

The marshmallows and pretzels I just dipped in white chocolate with a little red chocolate to turn pink. everything else I just got the pink cake mix for the cup cakes the pink jelly beans and the pink mints. So as you can see this was not that much work but it was cute and fun.

It's Done!

It has taken me too long to get these pictures up but last Thursday I finished the pantry cabinets by adding the real handles. I am so exited and grateful to Eric for a great job. you may notice my bo bo if you look closely. I drilled one of the holes in the wrong. I still have to fill and pain the mistake but they have still been in use now for 10 days and I love it.

Refresh

I found this high chair at a garage sale for $5.

I added $3 in spray paint $5 in fabric and about an hour of work. I am pleased with the results. I am glad to get rid of by primary colour plastic high chair for one that is a little easier on the eyes

Progress

We filled the gap in the floor with a concrete patch Friday night. Then Saturday morning Eric ripped out the old shelves. I was amazed at how much we where able to save. Eric did a flawless job of finishing the end of the built in shelves. They look Perfect!

The shelves are in!!!! wahoo

We taped on the fronts so we could nail them in place.

Do you like out paper handles? I was having a hard time picturing the handles and before we drill holes I wanted to be sure. So I cut out paper handles that are the same size and color as the ones I wanted. I think they will work well now that I see them. So all that is left is to add handles and do some touch up paint.

THANK YOU ERIC what a great job!

The pantry is almost done!

It is getting so close I can't wait. Last Saturday I put some urethane on the shelves and we brought them in side. I was so exited I fulled them up ever though it will be next Saturday before I can move them out of the dinning room and under the stairs. so I have been painting. Paining the wall painting the door fronts it all is taking longer than I want it to. But that is the way all projects go you get them almost done and the little finishing things take as mush time as the hole constriction.

never mind Livvy Devil face the shelves are great!

Then we hit a snag

So I was supposed to check all the outlets before Eric closed up the wall after taking out the plug in. I forgot to check the Dinning room and weeks later I found out that the outlets in the dinning room were out. So yet again I made more work for Eric he had to open the wall up and check on the wires. Turns out the dinning room is on the same secret as the plug we took out and er should have connected the wires since the secret is wired in series.

We found out that by code there needs to be a junction box at every splice so Eric drilled thought stair stringer to put the box in the closet.

Another nice patch job by Eric who fixes all my mistakes
