Hot dog "all-the-way"

I was feeling nostalgic for my mission this week. So I made a North Carolina favorite the hot dog all-the way. It consists of a hot dog with chili and coleslaw on it. Sounds weird yes but it tastes good.

one if my favorite things

That's right Borax is one of my favorite things.

It has a new look but it still works just great.

My testimonial

Before
Jake's most resent blow out pretty nasty

After
I scrubbed this shirt and soaked it in borax for about an hour then I washed it as usual. I am always impressed when I pull these pooped cloths (I have treated) out of the wash and they are totally clean.

Did I say that Borax is one of my favorite things

Pudding filled cupcakes

happy birthday Eric

First my favorite icing tip right now. I t looks good and works fast.

How to add a filling to your cupcakes

cut a small hole in the top of your cupcake. I use a small cookie cutter.

pull out the middle and scoop out a little cake. The amount of cake you scoop out depends on how much filling you want in the cupcake.

fill the hole I used 2 pudding cups because I was short on time and I only needed a little pudding.

replace the crust and ice.

The first hair cut

before (old man hair)

that's a lot of hair

After Buzz cut

still cute but a little sad

After After

Remember my laundry room makeover. Now I have an after after of my laundry room. I organized my laundry room in my last post. This post I beautified it.

After After
I made bin liner for the bins and I found a tension rod to hang a curtain to cover all the toilet paper on the top shelf. Pretty is fun and it males me happy.

After I finished my laundry room I had to find other places where I could use the Walmart bins.

Broom Closet

I looked and looked for cute magazine boxes finally I gave and got some cute wrapping paper and covered some cereal boxes. I just cut of the top and down one side. Cheep and cute my kind of thing.

what's for dinner? ... Reuben Sandwiches

We love Reuben Sandwiches it is a fast and easy dinner.
Ingredients:
Rye bread
roast beef (or corned beef)
Swiss cheese
sauerkraut
sauce (1 part thousand island salad dressing 1part horseradish)
olive oil to brush on the bread

assemble, press...

and eat. yummy

Shortly after we had our first home made Rueben sandwiches Eric and I went out for lunch. I thought I would order a rueben to compare. They where pretty much the same so I call that a success. You don't need the panini press a pan will work.

The water cycle song

My kids love the water cycle song. I found it on You Tube when I was teaching about water in Livvy's preschool. David and Livvy will listen to it over and over, I even Like it.

Dorky Thrills

Cheep Plastic Bins
Use#1 laundry organizer

Before
My messy laundry room has been an annoyance to me for a long time. But it drives Eric crazy to see the mess every day. I found some fun containers at Wal-mart they where $1.50 each I saw them and thought I have to find a good use for such a good deal.
After about 1/2 hour of work I had a new Laundry room. I was so exited to see the result I was almost giddy (what a dork). The bins all together cost only $15.

after He he I love it
This is not one of those afters where you just take out all your junk. I promise it is all still there it just looks better

Use #2 Coloring books and crayon storage

I made a liner for the bin with pockets for all the "crafting stuff " (as David calls it)

Use #3 Baby Carrier

just kidding not a good baby seat

Happy Mothers Day and Anniversary

Happy Mothers Day!

If you missed it I would recommend seeing the last episode of the TV show "The Middle" it was a mothers day special that was particularly relateable and pretty funny. Well my mothers day was not like the Mom on the show, it was great. This is mostly thanks to my wonderful husband. It ended up this year that our anniversary came on mother day too s I feel bad that he did all the work today. I got fun homemade cards from the kids and they cleaned the playroom as their present to me clean house my favorite. Eric is the best he made me crepes for breakfast and the most delicious dinner. Grilled Pork chops and asparagus with rice. Then he made the best fennel and sage cream reductction ever. Wow what a great dinner thanks hun! and thanks for a wonderful 7 years.

Morning Date ... Estate Sale

Eric and I went on an early morning date to an estate sale. It was tones of fun. If you have never been to an estate sale it is often when someone has dies or is downsizing and they are trying to sell everything in a house. This sale was a good one this older lady had a great book collection and was a big crafter. We spent a couple of hours looking though boxes and bookshelves. The hunt is half the fun. We found some great stuff and left with only spending $30.

our haul
Eric found some old books $1 each one was free

bag of antique lace $4

Ties 25 cents each 8= $2

Embroidery hoops $5

Embroidery floss $14

Box of Trim $3

We had so much fun I recommend estate sale as a fun activity even if you are only looking.
